For the Kennedy obsessed: Jackie, Joan and Ethel by J Randy Taraborrelli. Concerning tragically-fragile Joan, classically-lonely Jackie, and uber-competitive Ethel, and their individual and collective dealings with their egotistical husbands' careers, infidelities, and of course, the obligatory Kennedy scandals.
For those who like to kick it old school with your smut: Valley of the Dolls, by Jacqueline Susann. This 1960s melodrama chronicles the experiences of young working girls and their various degrees of success, love, fame and their eventual and impressive self-destruction aided by barbiturates, cancer, and suicide.
For the Hollywood-Golden-Age-Celebrity-Obsessed: Ava Gardner: Love is Nothing by Lee Server. Great page-turner with pulp text like "Love became her terrible habit...something hopeless to resist, impossible to get right." Lots of booze, brawls, gossip and sexual proclivities described in this Cinderella story about the most beautiful actress who ever walked. Frank figures prominently in the book and apparently figured prominently in the boudoir...
