Happy Hour Friday: Bebbo Cocktail


I don't know where the name Bebbo comes from, but it's cute and the drink is delicious. I love the addition of honey, and depending on the honey you use the drink will vary greatly. This is from the Cocktails+ iPhone app which I highly recommend you buy if you're a drink app geek like me. Many of the cocktails in it are creations of Jamie Boudreau, but this one is by Ted Haigh from his book Vintage Spirits & Forgotten Cocktails; From Alamagoozlum Cocktail to the Zombie.

Hey, do you like my new No.8 lamp? I scored it at Backyard Salvage, my new favorite Austin haunt for recycled home goods and building materials. The owners' primary business is demolishing houses; they keep any good stuff left behind and sell it to people like me. Everything from ceiling fans to confessional booths to old theatre seats -- to No.8 lamps.

Bebbo Cocktail


1 1/2 oz. gin
1 oz. fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz. honey
1/3 oz. fresh orange juice
maraschino cherry

Stir without ice to dissolve the honey, then add ice and shake. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a cherry.
