And nothing says, "Oh my god I think I'm going to faint" like wearing doubleknit polyester in 100% humidity, either. I just bought a beautiful purple dee-knit poly shift which will have a temporary place of honor on a mannequin as part of a retro display. But wear it? NEH-VAH!
Yes. I agree with Vintage Christine. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the look of these. I have picked up some vintage polyester clothes at estate sales (and will continue to do so) but honestly, whenever I wear them I get all hot and icky. That said, I have this one dress that I wear in the winter, with a wool cardy, which is great. So: winter, yes. Warm weather: no. Thanks for the pics! xoxo
Love the look...hate the feel. No one, not even my mother in the 1970's could make me wear double-knit polyester. That said, these ladies have such a neat "I'm an airline stewardess" vibe going on...which I love.

ReplyDeleteBoth the hair and the dresses will look fine even after rolling around on the ground a bit- isn't that awesome?
ReplyDeleteThese make me think of that movie "Gidget" :)
