When Blogging Turns to Blah

Dear Retro-luxe Readers,

We apologize for the lack of posts recently. A general feeling of malaise has set in, which combined with an overall lack of technological skills, has left us feeling less than peppy. Rather than "phone it in" and post lame trash that would clog up your Google reader, we're just quiet over here. Jennie's real busy with her new role as an ambassador to our local area food bank, Stephanie's preoccupied with real estate transactions and tons of details pertaining to the construction of her new house, and Meredith is just real lazy, laying around and watching reruns of the Rockford Files and wondering why the hell she didn't buy a Pontiac Firebird instead of a Honda Accord. Given that absence makes the heart grow fonder, we thought you might be even more curious about what we all looked like, so we've decided to post this picture of ourselves:

Can you guess who's who?

We're planning some fun things for spring, but readers, we need to hear from you. Please leave us a comment and tell us:
What do you like about this blog?
Not like?
Should we just hang it up?
What do you want to see more of?
Who was your favorite Angel?

  1. Don't hang it up! I'm renovating an old house and probably will be doing so for many years to come (lol). I love having places to go to for inspiration that works with my budget.

  2. If for the cocktail recipes only, keep at it. Blog malaise hits all of us and it's just temporary (I think it has something to do with the weather, too--you've probably been getting alot of rain like us over here in so. Mississippi). I always liked Kate the best--she was pretty but not unreal GORGEOUS like the other two. Hang in there!

  3. My babysitter, back in the day, had a Firebird. She would pile all 10 kids (it seemed) in the backseat in the summer and our legs would stick to the white vinyl seats. Good times. You wouldn't want to deprive GB & JS of that, would you?

If you're feeling malaise, how about some book reviews/ recommendations?

  4. Mamacita, I think my malaise just evaporated. I visited your blog and saw that hot dog. HOT DOG!

Good suggestion about the books, except that I haven't been able to complete one since the little buzzkillers came along...
Christine, Jennie is Kate, and we'll stick with the cocktails. Thanks for the compliment.
Lacey, cool news on the reno. Send us some pics!
    Well, what else?

  5. DON'T LEAVE ME!! Seriously, you're the only blog I check daily (sorry about the malaise but it's perfectly forgivable). I love your blog because of your passion for MCM, your irreverence and your booze. I feel like I know you gals. It's comforting to a 40-ISH, Austin ranch home owner who enjoys a biting wit and drink recipes. Spring will be a great time of renewal for us all. My malaise has made me pretty pathetic. Hang in there.
    I liked Kate.

  8. Thanks for all of the input, readers. I agree that spring will make all the difference and if we can just get through a rather cold, wet and dreary winter we'll come out of the funk with all kinds of renewed energy and ideas! Many thanks, all.

  10. Ok, here's the deal. Jennie is Kate Jackson, Stephanie is Farrah, and Meredith is Jacklyn Smith.

  11. After the divorce, my dad hung a large poster of Kate Jackson in the living room. When I think of this scene now, I picture us watching TV with a 3' x 5' photo of Jennie above us.
