And today I was thinking about the talented Karen Carpenter, those rock-solid drum chops coupled with a beautiful voice. How awesome was it that she was out front, playing drums and singing way back then? Enjoy, peeps.

It's too bad she didn't value herself as much as we all valued her. What a waste. She had a magnificent voice.

ReplyDeleteYes, good point, Barbara. Sad that someone so talented was plagued by these horrible body issues (and disease) that so many women struggle with. She was incredible!
ReplyDeleteIn high school in the late 70's it wasn't cool to like the Carpenters, so I hid my obsession from my friends. Of course, I had all their albums!

I still think Karen was one of the best vocalists of all time.
