Miss Jennie is away on holiday in New Mexico and asked me to post today. With nothing particularly spectacular planned planned, I'll just have to invite you all to an online pity party. For some months now, I have been searching for a matching set of vintage 50s or 60s chairs for my living room. You may recall from earlier posts that I broke up with my couch, which led to a chain-reaction decorating dilemma (see here and here). After searching for months, on Friday I saw these babies online at Room Service:
And I thought, voila. This would have indeed solved my decorating dilemma! Yellow/gold couch, yellow chairs, bring back the Angela Adams rug (7 year old spilled a glass of OJ on it anyway) and it would have fit so well. I always loved those kind of bucket, swivel chairs. My mother in law had a set of avocado looking ones. I'd saved this picture from Ben and Polly's house tour on Apartment Therapy for inspiration.
I was getting excited.
So I drove the truck over there Saturday ready to take possession, and friends, one of them had been purchased and already taken away. The pair had been separated! I was devastated. I told myself it wasn't meant to be, but it still stings.
Dear readers, has this ever happened to you? What was your "score" that got away? Do tell...misery loves company!
